Activity Information

Teens are invited to explore themes of love and love languages through a hands-on DIY linocut printmaking workshop with artist Aiyana Kline. Participants can carve their own designs using guided instructions or print with premade linocuts onto postcard-sized paper and fabric patches. Inspired by colors and themes in the exhibition Dyani White Hawk: Love Language, this workshop encourages creative expression, experimentation, and personalized storytelling.

Artist Bio

Aiyana Kline (Afro-Indigenous, Enrolled with Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa) is a multimedia artist, illustrator, and community teaching artist whose work centers relationships between animals, land, and Indigenous ways of knowing. Working across watercolor, gouache, digital illustration, graphic design, and printmaking, Kline creates imagery that blends storytelling, symbolism, and accessibility, often engaging themes of self-expression and connection. Kline holds a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and is a Cultural Bearer with the Native Youth Arts Collective. Their practice is deeply rooted in community-based art-making, with experience facilitating printmaking and painting workshops for youth and families across the Twin Cities metro area. Kline also collaborates with organizations/studios, including the Native American Community Development Institute, Marlena Myles, and Little Earth, to create participatory art experiences that center Indigenous presence and collective learning. Through teaching and facilitation, Kline prioritizes making art spaces welcoming and empowering for all.

Lead support for the Walker’s Education and Public Programs is provided by the Pohlad Family Community Engagement Fund.
