In 1930s Chicago, a pair of sleek con men successfully outwit a rich gambler (Robert Shaw) responsible for killing their friend. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture (1973), The Sting marks the reunion of duo Robert Redford and Paul Newman (Johnny Hooker and Henry Gondorff, respectively). Much of the film’s charm stems from scenes in which Redford/Newman must act as strangers to protect their ruse. 1973, DCP, 129 minutes.
