Murals and art-making take over the Walker hillside. Inspired by Keith Haring’s motto “Art is for everyone,” spend the evening watching local artist collective Creatives After Curfew create an on-site mural, then participate in a separate community mural and drop-in screenprinting stations. We encourage you to bring cotton shirts or materials to print on! Complimentary materials will also be available to print. Activities are open to all ages and experience levels to contribute to a communal piece.
Materials are provided and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; supplies are limited. No prior registration is required.
Please enjoy curated picnic snacks and libations from Cardamom, available for purchase on the hillside. Menus available upon request.
Galleries are open late and free on Thursday nights from 5 to 9 pm.

Creatives After Curfew is a decentralized collective of BIPOC/Queer artists and allies who mobilized during the Minneapolis uprisings in June 2020 to share resources, skills, and knowledge as a contribution to the movement. An evolving collaboration between Minneapolis artists co-creating art to soothe, remember, build, and imagine a future rooted in justice + liberation. The group’s approach to art-making is through community building, education, and allyship. They prioritize uplifting narratives rooted in liberation, accessibility, and exploration. A major impetus for convening was to amplify the voices, narratives, and perspectives of the communities we see ourselves reflected in through public art-making. The collective believes in putting artists at the forefront of benefit by pairing them with projects that complement their abilities and reflect the communities they serve. Creatives After Curfew is an example of how our collective is accountable for the communities we serve.
