Part of: Art Club ’25

Inspired by Christine Sun Kim’s inventive approach to musical staff lines, this workshop invites you to explore line, rhythm, and motion through light. Using simple light sources and long-exposure photography, participants will “draw” in the air, transforming invisible tracings into luminous shapes and marks.

Embrace the irregularity of bodies in motion as your hands, arms, and whole self become tools for mark-making. Through guided prompts, you’ll experiment with tracing, looping, and layering light to create one-of-a-kind visual signatures. No photography experience is necessary—just curiosity, playfulness, and a willingness to move.

The program will include short individual photo sessions in the Skyline Room on Floor 5, lead by local photographer Ashlee Bennett. Children are welcome to participate with a guardian’s guidance. Enjoy refreshments at a cash bar available in the Cityview Room on Floor 2.

No prior registration is required for Art Club. The more you visit, the more you’ll discover. Materials are provided and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; supplies are limited. Activities are designed for all skill levels. No prior registration is required.

Gallery admission is free on Thursday nights, 5 to 9 pm. Save time and reserve your gallery admission tickets online. Please note: Individual events during Free Thursday Nights are first-come, first-served.
