This winter, Art Club is warming up with new workshops and a bar. Each week offers a standing invitation to explore and create across our campus. Stop by the Art Lab for drop-in art-making with Walker educators. Every week is a chance to experiment with a new medium, idea, or muse. A cash bar is available in the lobby so you can sip while you create.

Join Life Drawing for the End of the World as we host their local drawing club for a special in-person figure-drawing session. Life Drawing for the End of the World was created to provide an intentional space for young and queer artists to practice rendering art from a live model, and to offer a safe entry point for models who are often underrepresented in the media. No one is turned away, and no experience is necessary to come and draw. Practice drawing from a live, clothed model, working on poses ranging from 2 to 25 minutes.

Guidance will be available in English, though the session will be largely uninstructed. Some materials are provided and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; supplies are limited, and we encourage you to bring any preferred charcoal or drawing materials. No prior registration is required for Art Club: the more you visit, the more you’ll discover.

Open Stacks and Free Films

Stop in on Thursday nights for Open Stacks and explore books, journals, and artist files with help from expert librarians. Discover a new book, research your favorite artist, or just peruse the vast collection. Located directly behind the Art Lab, the Walker’s library is open from 5 to 8 pm (no appointment necessary). The Bentson Mediatheque is always free, streaming select films and movies from the Ruben/Bentson Moving Image Collection. Choose your own adventure with our interactive menu, or sit back and enjoy a curated playlist of films.
