FLASHBACK

A Blast from the Past

Flashback: Keith Haring at the Walker

The year was 1984. Iconic artist Keith Haring created a giant mural in a single day—a mural that exists now only in photo and video documentation. The project was part of his artist residency and celebrated the opening of the Walker’s new education center. In the photo above, we see Haring with students from the Alice Smith School in Hopkins, taking requests for brand new drawings the kids then colored in themselves.
