Free Thursday Night, April 2
Camdentown Chess Club at the Walker
Cargill Lounge, 5–8 pm
Camdentown Chess Club returns for a series of monthly pop-ups inviting visitors of all ages to connect and engage in playful strategy and togetherness through the timeless game of chess. Launched in North Minneapolis as a welcoming community space for BIPOC players, Camdentown brings that same spirit of accessibility and belonging to the Cargill Lounge.
Inspired by the Show & Tell exhibition, which celebrates curiosity and exchange as forms of expression, Camdentown Chess Club invites visitors to see chess as both a game and a social practice—one that values patience, dialogue, and the beauty of thinking together. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, all are welcome.
Join us for Chess Club on Thursdays, February 5, March 12, and April 2, 5–8 pm. Chess boards and game clocks provided, supplies limited.
Art Lab, 5–8 pm
Turn words and feelings into a visual echo! Using language as a motif, expand on your chosen words using lines, shapes, and patterns across the canvas. Let your creativity flow as forms repeat and ripple across the page. Watch your initial idea transform as it “echoes”—you might be surprised with what comes forward.
Materials are provided and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis; supplies are limited. Activities are designed for all skill levels. No prior registration is required for Art Club. The more you visit, the more you’ll discover.

Fire up for Feria! ¡Olé! ¡Viva Sevilla! ¡Viva the Walker!

Bring a partner or pair up with someone new and dance your way to Seville! Open to all levels of dance experience. Dance shoes are welcome but not required. Space is limited. Instruction is designed for adults. Children are welcome to participate with a guardian’s guidance.
Gallery admission is free on Thursday nights, 5 to 9 pm. Save time and reserve your gallery admission tickets online. Please note: Individual events during Free Thursday Nights are first-come, first-served.
Cityview Bar, 6–8 pm
Inspired by Christine Sun Kim’s inventive approach to musical staff lines, this workshop invites you to explore line, rhythm, and motion through light. Using simple light sources and long-exposure photography, participants will “draw” in the air, transforming invisible tracings into luminous shapes and marks.
Embrace the irregularity of bodies in motion as your hands, arms, and whole self become tools for mark-making. Through guided prompts, you’ll experiment with tracing, looping, and layering light to create one-of-a-kind visual signatures. No photography experience is necessary—just curiosity, playfulness, and a willingness to move.
Free Thursday Night, April 23
Art Club: Cardboard Relief Sculpture
Art Lab, 5–8 pm
Layer, cut, and build your own textured cardboard relief, turning simple scraps into bold 3D artworks. Let your creativity guide you, as you explore shapes, depth, and shadows with recycled materials.
Free Thursday Night, April 30
Art Club: Multimedia Creations
Art Lab, 5–8 pm
Play with a mixed assortment of art materials, found objects, and items from nature to create a multimedia work of art. Bring found or special objects of your own to include on your canvas, or choose from the materials provided. Each participant will get a 4 in. x 6 in. blank “canvas” to layer materials onto, including yarn, film slides, construction paper, beads, and more. Explore the many ways different mediums can complement each other.
