Twist and Shout

, from 10 am–3 pm Saturday, April 3. Inspired by the exhibition 1964, the day’s highlights include a dance party where families can rock and roll to classic hits and learn some popular dance moves from that time. Other activities include a film screening, story time, and an art-making activity with guest artist Sarah Nassif.

Activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 am–3 pm. Gallery admission is free from 10 am–5 pm on Free First Saturday.

Experience the transition from black-and-white to color TV in this short film about two chefs working to create the world’s greatest cake.

Dance Party, 11 am–2 pm

McGuire Theater
Families get their groove on! Join guest DJ Scott Stulen as he spins ‘60s sounds like Motown, Surf, and British Invasion. Local dancer Alanna Morris will teach kids and help grown-ups remember how to Twist, Mash, and Hitchhike throughout the day!
