Things are Poppin' at the Walker Art Center's December Free First Saturday

Visitors will be able to take in activities that tempt the tummy at Pop-mart, the Walker Art Center’s Free First Saturday event from 10 am–5 pm Saturday, December 3. Featured events include a story reading of A Visit from St. Alphabe_t by author Dave Morice at 10 and 11 am, and 12 noon. Other events include an art-lab activity led by chefs Andrew Zimmern and Michelle Gayer Nicholson, short films about food, a live broadcast of FM 107’s food talk show _Chowhounds!, and family tours of the exhibition ANDY WARHOL/SUPERNOVA: Stars, Deaths, and Disasters, 1962–1964.

Activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Art-Making for the Whole Family: Play with Your Food!

Join chefs Andrew Zimmern and Michelle Gayer Nicholson in the Star Tribune Foundation Art Lab, where they will show families how to prepare some easy and tasty treats together at home.

Discover works of art inspired by pop culture in the Walker’s collection and in the exhibition ANDY WARHOL/SUPERNOVA: Stars, Deaths, and Disasters, 1962–1964.
