The Walker Art Center Cancels all Programs Until April 15 2020, Galleries to Remain Open

Due to precautions regarding the COVID-19 virus, the Walker Art Center is canceling all on-site programs, including performances, screenings, lectures and public tours, until April 15. Galleries, public spaces, the Walker Shop, and Esker Grove are scheduled to remain open at this time. Although we have not been directly affected by the virus, the Walker’s primary consideration is the safety of our audiences, artists and staff. We are following the advice of the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health to limit large public gatherings and to encourage social distancing at this immediate time.

The Walker is taking every precaution to maintain a safe and clean environment for all visitors including enhanced cleaning of all facilities, using hospital-grade cleaners. Our staff is being encouraged to stay home if they are feeling unwell and we hope that our visitors follow the same public health advice.

All event ticket holders will be contacted directly regarding refunds and exchanges.
Updates will be shared at walkerart.org as they unfold.

ABOUT THE WALKER ART CENTER / MINNEAPOLIS SCULPTURE GARDEN
Known for presenting today’s most compelling artists from close to home and around the world, the Walker Art Center features a broad array of contemporary visual arts, music, dance, theater, and moving image works. Ranging from concerts and films to exhibitions and workshops, Walker programs bring us together to examine the questions that shape and inspire us as individuals, cultures, and communities. The adjacent Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, one of the first urban sculpture parks of its kind in the United States, holds at its center the beloved Twin Cities landmark Spoonbridge and Cherry by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen as well as some 60 sculptures on the 19-acre Walker campus. Visit walkerart.org for more information on upcoming events and programs.
