This month, as autumn draws to a close, the Walker Art Center offers a break from winter’s growing chill on Thursday nights. Think critically and stay warm with Adiós Utopia: Dreams and Deceptions in Cuban Art Since 1950, opening November 11. Engage with the exhibitions —both new and continuing— though programming in the galleries and in Walker Cinema.

Get inspired. Get in free. Gallery admission is free from 5 to 9 pm every Thursday night.

Join Sandra Levinson, executive director of the Center for Cuban Studies (CCS), New York, for a lively discussion about Cuban posters. CCS houses thousands of original examples, all of which Levinson carried across the border herself. See many of the works in person and learn from this sage of contemporary Cuban art.

A related exhibition of contemporary Cuban art and photography from CCS is on view at Squirrel Haus Arts, St. Paul (November 17, 2017 – January 15, 2018).
