Target Free Thursday Nights in May Feature Sound Horizon Music Event with Miya Masaoka and Artists' Cinema: Projected Images Series
The Walker Art Center’s Target Free Thursday Nights in May feature Artists’ Cinema, a new annual series of films and public programs that explores the status of the moving image in contemporary art today. Featuring artist talks and screenings, a rotating program of free films in the Lecture Room, and a temporary installation at Midway Contemporary Art, the series highlights work by an international roster of artists. Events include a screening by performance artist Ming Wong and filmmaker Phil Collins (May 5, 7:30 pm); a screening by Rosalind Nashashibi (May 12, 7:30); a screening and artist talk by filmmaker Michael Robinson (May 19, 7 pm); a screening by Nicolas Provost (May 19, 8:30 pm); a screening of Ben Rivers’ Slow Action (May 26, 7 pm) and a screening of Redmond Entwistle’s Monuments (May 26, 8 pm). Target Free Thursday Nights in May also feature an in-gallery Sound Horizon music event with sound artist Miya Masaoka (May 12). Gallery admission is free from 5-9 pm every Thursday night.
