Paper Tails, the Walker Art Center's Free First Saturday in May, Draws Inspiration from the Exhibition Paper Trail: A Decade of Acquisitions
It’s time to welcome spring and take inspiration from works on paper at Paper Tails, the Walker Art Center’s Free First Saturday event from 10 am–5 pm Saturday, May 5. Featured events include a performance by Arwen Wilder and Kristin Van Loon, also known as the choreographic duo HIJACK; a screening of Tomoko Oguchi’s Folklore Restaurant, a series of animated shorts which explore folktales originating from Native American cultures, Finland, and Japan.; an art lab activity to make kites out of Japanese paper; an art lab activity to make a silkscreen print and collage of your favorite animal with printmaker Keiko Yagishita; a story reading; and a gallery crawl looking at printmaking techniques in the exhibition Paper Trail: A Decade of Acquisitions.
Activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
