Immerse Yourself: An Onstage Performance Installation Series Continues with Choreographer Faye Driscoll's Thank You For Coming: Attendance

Minneapolis, January 19, 2016—New York–based choreographer Faye Driscoll takes audiences on a joyous and intriguingly wild ride in the first work of her new trilogy that the Walker will present over the next three years. Thank You for Coming: Attendance is a cleverly crafted and playfully choreographic exploration that softens the lines between spectator and participant with an invitation to the audience to join an impromptu 75-minute community. Presented in an ingeniously immersive setting on the McGuire Theater stage, performers pass through ever-morphing states of physical entanglement and scenes of distorted familiarity, building new bodies, new stories, and new ways of being. Thank You for Coming: Attendance will be performed Wednesday–Sunday, February 17–21; Wednesday–Saturday, 8 pm; Sunday, 7 pm in the William and Nadine McGuire Theater.

Faye Driscoll is a Bessie Award-winning choreographer and director who has been hailed as a “startlingly original talent” by The New York Time_s. Her work has been commissioned by Danspace Project, LMCC, ICA/Boston, The Kitchen, Walker Art Center, Dance Theater Workshop, Wexner Center for the Arts, and American Dance Festival and has been presented internationally at Theatre de Vanves, Festival d’Automne a Paris, and the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. She has been awarded The MAP Fund Grant, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Creative Capital award, and a Foundation for Contemporary Art Individual Artist Award. She has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Museum of Art and Design, Mass Live Arts, The Performing Garage Presents, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Park Avenue Armory, and was a choreographic fellow at MANCC. She is currently working on the second iteration of her _Thank You for Coming series, TYFC: Play, co-commissioned by the Walker, which will premiere at the Wexner Center for the Arts in September 2016.
