Get Your Groove on at the Walker Art Center's Free First Saturday Event in June
Families are invited to come shake their booties at Global Grooves, the Walker Art Center’s Free First Saturday event from 10 am–4 pm Saturday, June 2. Featured events include a Kids Disco Party in the McGuire Theater, with global beats provided by DJs Mike Davis and Plain Ole Bill; a film screening looking at cultures around the world; art lab activities to make musical instruments and disco balls; a story reading; and a gallery crawl which explores ways that artists Julie Mehretu and Alighiero Boetti use maps, grids, and architectural forms in their work.
Activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 am–4 pm. Gallery admission is free from 10 am–5 pm on Free First Saturday.
