First of Five Outdoor Free First Saturdays Takes Place May 1 In Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

From May through September, the Walker Art Center will present five bigger-than-ever

programs in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

Duck, Duck, Goose!

, from 11 am–4 pm Saturday, May 1, kicks off these Walker without Walls programs featuring live music, art-making, presentations by local and national performers, artist happenings, and interactive Garden treasure-hunt tours. At Duck, Duck, Goose! families will join students from the Paul and Sheila Wellstone School and Battle Creek Environmental Magnet School and artist-in-residence Jennifer Monson and the Bird Brain dance company for a workshop and performances in the Garden. Music and art-making activities follow, led by folk singer Ross Sutter, puppeteer Margo McCreary, and theater artist Greg Krueger. Participants will experience the sensation of flocking and other migratory bird behavior, do some bird-watching, create a fantasy fowl, and make a nest to take home. Presented as part of the Grand Excursion 2004.
