The McGuire Theater

The William and Nadine McGuire Theater is home to the Walker’s acclaimed performing arts program. Designed for experimentation, it offers state-of-the-art technical capabilities that support bold ideas, creative dialogue, and cross-disciplinary productions.

Each year, the McGuire hosts the Walker’s highly anticipated performing arts season, presenting contemporary music, theater, dance, and performance art from around the world. The theater is also home to long-standing programs such as Choreographers’ Evening and the experimental theater series Out There.

Blending European theater traditions with contemporary design, the McGuire combines the scale of a modern opera house with the intimacy of a black box theater—creating a space that brings audiences and performers closer together.

The Walker’s Performing Arts program presents contemporary dance, experimental theater, new music, and hybrid art forms that defy categorization.
