Free Thursday Nights

Join us every Thursday night for free gallery admission, special programming, and arts activities for all.

Every Thursday night, the Walker comes alive. With free admission and special programming, the campus transforms into a hub for creativity and community.

Come explore our world-class exhibitions or join a free, educator-led public tour (offered Thursdays at 6 pm). Peruse our jukebox-style self-select cinema or grab a drink at our Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Cardamom. Bring home a memento from our Museum Shop or find your next statement piece from our design shop, Idea House 3.

Upcoming Free Thursday Nights programs

From September to May, community members are also invited to participate in Art Club activities and to discover the Walker Library. Art Club activities are led by the Walker’s in-house educators, in partnership with local artists who specialize in art forms ranging from wet-felting to story-cloth collaging. Meanwhile, tucked away in the Walker’s lower level, the Library offers visitors access to rare books and periodicals.

Whether you’re drawn to an artist talk in the Walker Cinema or a DJ set on the hillside, our year-round Thursday night programming offers all kinds of ways to engage with art.

Please note that Walker programs and other free events are subject to change and may require registration. Check specific event pages for details.

For information about accessibility, to learn about accessibility programs, or to request accommodations, visit our Accessibility page, call 612-375-7564, or email access@walkerart.org.
